Blond Eckbert at English Touring Opera

English Touring Opera presents a gripping production of Judith Weir’s Blond Eckbert, a haunting exploration of isolation and guilt based on Ludwig Tieck’s supernatural tale. Baritone Alex Otterburn stars as Eckbert, accompanied by Flora McIntosh, Aoife Miskelly, and William Morgan, who reprise their roles from the acclaimed Aldeburgh Festival production. This double-bill includes a new staging titled Do not take my story for a fairytale, showcasing music from the Romantic era, featuring tenor Matthew McKinney and soprano Abigail Kelly. The season also features Rimsky-Korsakov's The Snowmaiden, with Ffion Edwards in the title role, promising a captivating autumn of operatic storytelling.
