Jeff co-created/directed (with Matt Yeager) and starred in the pilot "Max Riddle" which premiered at the New York Television Festival, winning Jeff the award for Best Actor in a Drama. The show is a dramatic comedy about an awkward man with a kind heart and crippling OCD, who makes friends for the first time, set against the backdrop of a dying American town. They partnered with Sony Pictures Television, Lisa Kudrow and Is or Isn’t Entertainment based on the strength of the pilot. Max Riddle was later developed as a short form series at Topic.
Skowron co-starred in “Bad Santa 2” (Miramax/Broad Green Pictures) alongside Billy Bob Thornton. Fueled by cheap whiskey, greed, and hatred, Willie (Thornton) teams up once again with his angry little sidekick, Marcus, to knock off a Chicago charity on Christmas Eve. Skowron is a scene-stealer as Dorfman, a duty-driven, inexplicably loyal security guard for the charity organization Willie and Marcus plan to scam. Other feature credits include: New York City Serenade (directed by Frank Whaley,) The Narrows, How To Seduce Difficult Women, The Good Shepherd (directed by Robert DeNiro,) Premium, Chapter 27, and A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints (with Robert Downey Jr.)
Skowron can also be seen starring as Greg Mondonski in the hit online series “Greg & Donny,” a single camera scripted comedy about two knuckleheads from Western PA. Written by Jeff and Matt Yeager, the series ran on the internet for a full season before winning IFC's 'Out of the Box' award at the New York Television Festival, which is given to the most innovative or genre-expanding pilot in competition. The show was developed into a half-hour sitcom by IFC and greenlit to pilot, which was directed by Troy Miller (Parks and Recreation, Lopez, The Office,) and produced by Dakota Pictures. Other television guest credits include: Super Pumped, NCIS, Kroll Show, Teen Wolf, Law and Order SVU and Mary and Rhoda for ABC. Jeff won the award for Best Supporting Actor at the LA Web Series Festival for his role in Valet, directed by The Kloons.
Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Skowron is a classically trained actor with extensive credits at some of the most prestigious theaters across the nation. He has played leading roles in the Broadway productions of Enron, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, High Society, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. He also created the role of Chris Bell in The Boy from Oz, opposite Hugh Jackman. Skowron won the LA Stage Alliance’s Ovation Award for Best Leading Actor for his portrayal of Leo Frank in Parade and for Best Supporting actor as Billis in South Pacific. He was nominated for Ovation Awards for Best Leading Actor for his portrayals of Leo Bloom in The Producers, Thernardier in Les Miserables and for Best Supporting Actor as Mr. Collins in Pride and Prejudice. He also received an LA Drama Critics Circle nomination for Best Actor for his portrayal of the Baker in Into the Woods and a Connecticut Critics Circle nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Play as "Eddie" in Lost in Yonkers at Hartford Stage opposite Marsha Mason.
