BIO

London based Tony & Olivier nominated choreographer, Ellen Kane is currently working on Legally Blonde for Regent's Park Open Air Theatre (dir. Lucy Moss) and has been working as the Choreographer for Matilda (feature film dir. Matthew Warchus for Netflix) and A Chorus Line (dir. Nikolai Foster) for the Curve in Leicester. Other credits include: Choreographer West Side Story (dir. Nikolai Foster) for the Curve in Leicester and Dance & Movement Supervisor on Cats (dir. Tom Hooper), Co-Choreographer of Groundhog Day The Musical (dir. Matthew Warchus), Old Vic Theatre London and the August Wilson Theatre Broadway (Tony and Olivier nominations); Worldwide Associate Choreographer on the RSC’s Matilda The Musical Stratford, London, Broadway, US Tour, Australia, New Zealand, UK & International tour, also directed by Matthew Warchus; Choreographer for Pieces of String at Mercury Theatre in Colchester; Choreographer for Perfect Pitch, Children In Need’s Musical in a Week; Choreographer for Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (dir.Bartlett Sher) at Playhouse Theatre, London; Choreographer for Elton John’s Electricity Video in association with Working Title; International Choreographic Supervisor and Associate on Billy Elliot The Musical (dir. It is a brave move, as the book is so well known and hasn't been out of print since 1936. However, there's so need to fear, as Kendall Feaver's adaptation is a truly charming and heart-warming family show.

Seven years after it closed on Broadway in 2017, Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 is finally arriving in London at the Donmar Warehouse in December. The show, written by Dave Malloy, takes a seventy-page segment of Leo Tolstoy’s War and Peace (Part Eight, to be specific) and transforms it into a sung-through musical. The titular characters of Natasha Rostova and Pierre Bezukhov are respectively played by Chumisa Dornford-May and Declan Bennett.
