Cotuit Center For The Arts is excited to announce auditions for the musical YOU’RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN, the first production at our new outdoor performance space for the summer of 2022.
It’s just an average day in the life of Charlie Brown as he navigates Lunch Time, Valentine’s Day, and Baseball Season with both wild optimism and utter despair. This musical is based on the beloved comic strip “Peanuts” by Charles M. Schulz and includes the iconic comic book friends Lucy, Sally, Schroeder, Linus and, of course, Snoopy.

Character Breakdown:
CHARLIE BROWN
Vocal Range: (Baritone) A#2-F4
A lovable loser, a child possessed of endless determination and hope, but who is ultimately dominated by his insecurities and a “permanent case of bad luck”. His love for his friends and perseverance helps win the day.
LUCY VAN PELT
Vocal Range: (Alto/Mezzo) G3-F5
A crabby, bossy, selfish girl! She is especially mean to Charlie Brown and her “stupid” little brother Linus. Lucy is in love with Schroeder who has NO interest in her whatsoever. Lucy is loud, obnoxious and has a very strong personality.
LINUS VAN PELT
Vocal Range: (Baritone) A#2-E4
He is Lucy’s little brother . Linus always means well and tries to smooth over any storms that arise amongst the gang. A source of frustration for him is Lucy, who always belittles him, particularly over his “stupid blanket” which is always at his side.
SALLY BROWN
Vocal Range: (Soprano) B3-G#5
Charlie Brown’s younger sister. Sally has a “take it easy” approach to life, preferring to slide by while doing as little work as possible. She is hopelessly in love with Linus. Sally has philosophies on life although they are not the most well thought out philosophies.
SNOOPY
Vocal Range: (Tenor) C3-A4
He is Charlie Brown’s pet beagle, and is owned and cared for by Charlie Brown although at times it is not clear who is in charge. Snoopy is blessed with a rich fantasy life.
SCHROEDER
Vocal Range: (Tenor) A#2-G#4
He is a skilled pianist and his interests solely lie with music, especially the classical composers, Beethoven and Mozart.
