Summary

Red Theater Chicago seeks diverse cast for Year of the Rooster by Eric Dufault. A fiercely comic play about cockfighting, connections, and clawing your way to the top.
The play features humans playing roosters, class warfare, hollow machismo, and trying to find a way to matter in this world.

Characters

Gil Pepper- Mid-thirties, he wears old clothing, an eye-patch.
Dickie Thimble- Mid-forties, he wears expensive clothing, a cowboy hat.
Lou Pepper- Mid-sixties, she wears a nightgown.
Odysseus Rex- Mid-twenties, he is a rooster.
Philipa Long- Late-teens, she wears a McDonald’s uniform.
