MadElf Arts & Education announces auditions for a new rock musical that brings awareness to a very important issue, climate change. Seeking strong actors/singers for a workshop performance opening Earth Day week, April 21, 22, 23, 2022. The rock musical will also be performed in concert venues/bars/restaurants/other theatres as they are booked. We need actors who can be flexible and available for multiple performances after the opening. Seeking talented performers who are experienced and willing to collaborate and bring creativity, input, and ideas for a future full production. We are seeking Charlotte, NC area actors only. All roles are Non-Union and paid. Looking for as diverse a cast as possible so all ethnicities, races and orientations are strongly encouraged to audition. Deadline for submissions is January 24, 2022.
There is no housing provided. Weeknight and weekend day rehearsals will begin in Cornelius, NC in early March. We are also seeking a Stage Manager/Tech Director.
Water Inc. The Musical. She owns the farms on top of the last clean freshwater aquifer. He owns the company that wants the water. They share a terrible secret.

Seeking:
Sophia: In her 50s. Lean and not unaccustomed to hard physical work. She has regrets from the past that changed her life. Tough and self-reliant. She is a very caring person, yet not afraid to fight for what is right. Vocal Range: F3-A5
Carl Geier: Late 50s to early 60s. Narcissistic, controlling and paranoid, he is the head of BBG (Big Blue Gold) a large multinational utilities and resources company. He keeps his psychological frailties in careful check and like any successful sociopath uses them as needed. Vocal Range: G2-G5
Demi: In her 30s. A physician who saves lives. She and her husband, Will, fled the drought-stricken west that’s been on fire and destroying everything in its path. She is Sophia’s daughter and a surviving twin. She is strong like her mother, but the current given circumstances have left her very vulnerable to giving up hope. Vocal Range: Ab3-F5
Will: Early 40s. Demi’s genius husband. He is a water resource engineer and hydrogeologist. He fled the drought-stricken west with Demi. He is frustrated and driven. Vocal Range: F2-G5
Kara: about ten years old, sweet young girl. She is the deceased twin sister of Demi. She appears as a ghost. Vocal range: F4-A5
Electra: 25 to 30 years old. A beautiful geologist working for Carl Geier at BBG. Ambitious, but damaged, she will do almost anything to advance herself and her career. She uses every tool at her disposal. Vocal Range: C4-Bb5
Alberto: Early 30s. A brilliant engineer and inventor working for BBG trying to develop a new, safe deep aquifer drilling technique. He can be a little distant and unfocused when something is going on in his head, but he’s never far from the truth. Vocal Range: B3-E5
Reporter/Thorin: A female journalist initially reporting for WYBU news. She provides both narration and commentary. Thorin: the machine Albert has invented to find water. Vocal Range: B3-D5
Video Submissions only. To submit, please prepare 60-90 seconds (or 32 bars) of a Rock Musical. You may also sing a popular Progressive Rock song in the style of the show. Think Progressive Rock like Pink Floyd, YES, STYX, David Bowie, Early Elton John, Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood Mac), Grace Slick (Jefferson Airplane), Chrissie Hynde (The Pretenders), Annie Lennox (Eurythmics), etc. Act the song when you sing.
