THEY CALL IT GRAVY; WE CALL IT SAUCE! - Art House Productions

Casting the 4th run in New Jersey of the original musical about Sicilians/Italians called: “They Call It Gravy; WE Call it SAUCE!”

Currently casting the following roles:

ROSA GARRAFFA. Understudy. Age – 22 to 25, 5’2”–5’6”. Thin, swimsuit model-type, Mediterranean features, brown or hazel eyes, very long, well-below-the-shoulder natural, straight, brown or chestnut hair (no wigs or extensions); must demonstrate the ability to properly pronounce Sicilian words and phrases during the audition process; must be an experienced singer; ability to read music preferred, but not required; character was born and raised in Little Italy and has a feisty New York attitude and accent. To be considered for this role, applicant must meet the physical descriptions as listed.

AARON GOLDMAN: Lead. Age – 25 to 30, 5'8 – 6’2”. Athletic/muscular build, clean-cut, light blond hair, blue eyes, no facial hair. Strong, commanding, speaking voice. This is a singing role. The ability to read music is preferred, but not required. The "Aaron" character is from Connecticut and has no accent of any kind. Note: Actor must have natural blond hair or willing to color.

BARBARA GOLDMAN: Understudy. Age – 21 to 24, 5’5”-5’7”. Slim, swimsuit model-type, fair complexion, very light, long blond hair (well below the shoulders). Blue eyes. Prefer natural blond or willing to color. No wigs or extensions. The "Barbara" character was born and raised in Connecticut, therefore, has no accent. This is a principal singing role. The ability to read music is preferred, but not required.

TONY MANCUSO, Supporting. Age – 25 to 30, 5'8 – 6’2”. Weight: 180 - 225 lbs. Waist: 34-36. Ultra-macho Brooklyn Italian. The character is a U.S. Sailor. No facial hair. This is a singing and dancing role. The ability to read music is preferred, but not required.

MARIA VOLPE: Supporting. Age – 46-55. 5'2"-5'7". Slim to average with shoulder-length or longer black, brown or chestnut hair. Mediterranean features (in other words, looks Italian). Executive Producer prefers an applicant with basic knowledge of the Italian language and/or Neapolitan Dialect. Applicant must be able to learn and pronounce Italian words and phrases. This is a comedic supporting role.

YOUNGER DANTE: Supporting. Age – 20 to 24, 5’6”–5’8”. Slim. Medium-length dark hair. No facial hair. Must be an experienced singer; ability to read music preferred, but not required.
