New Cavern Productions (NCP) is proud to announce auditions and other artistic opportunities for the hit rock musical, The Who’s Tommy.
The show will have 11 performances from July 11 to the 27th. Performances and rehearsals will be at the state of the art performance venue at Theatre Horizon in Norristown, PA (with access to SEPTA Trains and buses). Rehearsals begin late May.
We are looking for the following:
Actors, Singers, Dancers to Audition
The Pit Band:
Keyboard 1, Keyboard 2, Keyboard 3, Guitar 1, Guitar 2, Drums, Bass Guitar, Horn Player
Production Team:
Stage Crew, Assistant Stage Manager, Sound Designer
We are also looking for visual artists to help decorate the lobby in the theme of the show
Auditions will be held May 13 and 14th At The University of The Arts Terra Building, on 201 S. Broad Street Philadelphia, PA 19107. Auditions will start at 6 PM on both days with callbacks following the audition.

FOR AUDITION DAY: Please prepare a 32 bar cut of a song in the style of the show. You will also be asked to participate in a dance call. Please bring headshot and resume stapled together.
This is a non-equity, no pay production and auditioners must be 16+ in age (age rule excluding the four year old Tommy and 10 year old Tommy characters).
NCP will network all cast and crew members of the production. Bios and contact information will be in every program, and they will also be added to our website database. If someone is interested in your particular talent after seeing your work with NCP, they can click “Hire an NCP Artist” online or look in the program and contact you. The online database can also include resumes, videos, whatever the young artist wants to share to help propel opportunities outside NCP. NCP will also bring Artistic Leaders from various professional theatre companies in the area as well as representatives from local casting agencies to look at our young talent. Aside from getting your name out there and building your resume, NCP will create a truly professional theatrical experience in which we may all learn and grow as artists.
STORY: After witnessing the accidental murder of his mother’s lover by his father, Tommy is traumatized into catatonia, and as the boy grows, he suffers abuse at the hands of his sadistic relatives and neighbors. As an adolescent, he’s discovered to have an uncanny knack for playing pinball, and when his mother finally breaks through his catatonia, he becomes an international pinball superstar.
