Star of the Day (SOTD) is thrilled to announce auditions for their upcoming October musical, “The Mystery of Edwin Drood.”
Directed by Lehigh Valley theatre veteran Daniel Petrovich, “The Mystery of Edwin Drood” is a comedic musical mystery that puts the story in the audience’s hands. Based on Charles Dicken’s unfinished novel, it broke ground when it premiered in the 1980s as the first-ever musical with multiple endings.
“‘The Mystery of Edwin Drood’ has long been on my director bucket list,” says Daniel. “I am so excited to see what magic Star of the Day and I can create with the incredible talent we have in the Lehigh Valley.”
This announcement marks a season change for the Lehigh Valley theatre company. They were originally slated to produce The Sound of Music in October. However, Civic Theatre of Allentown recently announced they would also be performing the Rogers and Hammerstein classic.
“We were excited to share this story with audiences, but given it’s a classic, it makes sense others would be eager to perform it as well! To ensure our friends over at Civic have a successful run, we’ve decided to change directions for our upcoming show,” says SOTD Managing Artistic Director Kirsten Almeida.
Auditions for “The Mystery of Edwin Drood” will take place July 10 & 11th, 2024. Performances will be October 4-13 at St. John UCC’s Fellowship Theatre in Emmaus. Full audition details visit
