Syracuse Stage to hold children auditions for “The Wizard of Oz”

On April 15, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.,
Syracuse Stage will hold auditions for children 13 and under for the
2017-2018 season holiday show, “The Wizard of Oz”.

“The Wizard of Oz” is Syracuse Stage’s annual holiday family show. The ever-popular and beloved classic will have fresh appeal as Syracuse Stage partners not only with the
Syracuse University Department of Drama, but with the New York-based
2 Ring Circus, who will bring cirque-like acrobatics to the production. The great songs and beloved characters are the same; the experience is entirely new.

Audition Information

Syracuse Stage is looking for boys and girls to play the munchkins. Children must be 5’ or under and no older than 13 years of age by Dec. 13, 2017. For more information or to make an appointment, contact Chris Botek at
315-443-4008 between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

All ethnicities are encouraged to audition. Those auditioning should prepare 16 bars of a song and must bring sheet music for a provided accompanist. Children must be available for rehearsals beginning Oct. 31 through the end of the show’s run on Dec. 31.
