Theatre of Youth Company, Inc. (TOY) is holding auditions for BIPOC actors ages 18 and up for their Fall 2022 production of THE SNOWY DAY AND OTHER STORIES BY EZRA JACK KEATS on Wednesday, September 21 from 6-9pm. The Snowy Day will be directed by Annette Daniels Taylor, and will run November 4-20, 2022 (weekend and on-school time performances). Auditions are by appointment only.

THE PLAY
Follow Peter and his friends as they set out to celebrate the first snowfall of the year with snowball fights, by making snow angels, and playing in the snow. Based on the Caldecott Award-winning book by Ezra Jack Keats.
The Snowy Day and other stories by Ezra Jack Keats, celebrate the magic and boundless possibilities of the first snowfall! This uplifting musical play is all about childhood joys and living each day to the fullest.
Adapted for the stage by Jerome Hairston. Produced by special arrangement with Plays for New Audiences.
All roles are available. Audition submissions are for artists who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color).
AUDITION APPOINMENT
General auditions will be in-person and held on Wednesday, September 21 from 6-9:00PM. Auditions will be at TOY, the Historic Allendale Theatre, 203 Allen Street, Buffalo, 14201.Actors must be fully vaccinated (2-shot vaccine with booster), and proof of vaccination is required at the time of the audition.

Interested actors will receive a 5-min audition time slot and should prepare a 60-90 second memorized monologue. Actors should also provide their headshot and resume. Puppetry experience is a plus. Actors must be available for school-time and weekend performances.
