OCEAN STATE THEATRE COMPANY ANNOUNCES

CHILDREN’S AUDITIONS FOR THE KING AND I



Ocean State Theatre Company announces Open Children’s Auditions for
its spring production of The King and I. Producing Artistic Director
Amiee Turner, who will be directing The King and I, is looking for two
boys to play the parts of Louis Leonowens and the Prince
Chulalongkorns. Both boys should look between 10 and 14 years old and
must sing well. Children auditioning for the part of Louis should be
able to speak with a British dialect and an Asian looking child is
preferred for the role of the Prince. There is also a need for several
Royal Children, (Asian looking preferred), between the ages of 4 and
16 years old, who are interested in singing in the children’s chorus
for the production. It is especially important that the children
demonstrate the ability to follow directions. Selected children will
need to be available for afternoon, evening and weekend rehearsals
from April 9 – 23 and all day and evening performances from April 24 –
May 19, 2013.



Auditions will be held on Tuesday, March 12 and Wednesday, March 13,
2013 from 6:00 – 8:30 pm at:



Ocean State Theatre

1245 Jefferson Boulevard

Warwick, RI 02886



Those auditioning should bring a headshot or a recent photo and a
resume (if available). Children should come with a short prepared song
preferably with sheet music. A cappella is also acceptable. No tape
recorders or CD players. Those asked to stay will learn a short dance
combination. Please bring or wear appropriate shoes for dancing.
Sign-up will begin at 5:30 pm.
