Two TCT Auditions
Auditions for The Halloween Trilogy
TCT Off Broadway will hold auditions for The Halloween Trilogy by Cecilia Fannon and John de Lancie on Wednesday, October 12
and Friday, October 14th
at 6:30 each evening at 213 East Franklin.
The cast calls for men and women high school age and older. The play is a radio reading using a silhouette aspect for visual fun and is scheduled to have only two rehearsals. The format promises to be enjoyable for newcomers and veterans of the stage alike.
It includes Edgar Allan Poe's The Cask of Amontillado, Rudyard Kipling's The Mark of the Beast, and Oscar Wilde's The Canterville Ghost.
Production dates are October 28 and 29 and will be directed by Carlton Wall. For more information email the director at CarltonRWall@gmail.com or call the TCT Office at 844-1935.
Auditions for Cicada
Tupelo Community Theatre will hold auditions for Cicada, by award winning Tupelo native Jerre Dye, on Monday, Oct 24 and Tuesday, Oct 25 at 6 p.m. in the Lyric rehearsal Hall.
The Chicago Tribune's review of Cicada said Dye's voice is most definitely authentic and his understanding of trauma and loss palpable. Chicago Theatre Review described the play as a poetic southern drama riding over waves of angst and anger, laced with moments of unexpected humor.
The play takes place in rural Mississippi in July 1974 where in Lily's isolation, memories become real moving here backward and forward in time.
The cast of 9 calls for actors who can play a 10 year old girl and a 17 year old boy, as well as adult men and women of all ages. Parents should be aware the play does contain a limited amount of language some may find offensive.
No advance prep is needed and Tom Booth will direct. Production dates are January 26-28.
