“THE FOREIGNER” AUDITIONS AT VAGABOND THEATER
806 S. Broadway in Fells Point
“The Foreigner” (by Larry Shue) is an award winning, inspired comic romp, equal in inventive hilarity to the author’s other great comedy, “The Nerd.” The play demonstrates what can happen when a group of devious characters must deal with a stranger who (they think) knows no English.
This is a non-Equity, not-for-pay production.
Audition Dates: Monday, November 11 and Tuesday, November 12 at 7:00 p.m.
Production Dates: April 18 thru May 18, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m; Sundays at 2:00 p.m.
Rehearsals begin in late February and will usually be held Monday thru Thursday evenings.
Experienced actors are required for the following roles:
“Froggy” LeSueur (40’s – 60): a good-natured, cheerful British military man who is a demolitions expert and consultant to the U.S. Army.
Catherine Simms (20’s – early 30’s): an attractive, though somewhat spoiled Southern debutante and heiress who is dissatisfied with the rural lifestyle her fiancée has chosen to lead.
Rev. David Marshall Lee (30’s): a seemingly dedicated, friendly man of the cloth who is engaged to marry Catherine. Southern accent required.
Owen Musser (35 -60): a superstitious, and dangerous Southern redneck bully and bigot.
The roles of Charlie Baker, Betty Meeks and Ellard Simms have been cast.
Actors will be asked to study and then read a brief scene from the play.
