For a student produced and directed production of the Harvey Schmidt-Tom Jones musical The Fantasticks at the Warehouse Performing Arts Center in Cornelius NC.
The Warehouse is located at 9216-A Westmoreland Rd. Cornelius, about 20 minutes North of Charlotte (between I-77 exits 25 and 28.)
Auditions will be held on Monday June 11th from 6PM-7PM at the Warehouse. Some actors may be asked to stay later.
We are calling all actors, male and female, ages 25-55 to audition for the roles of El Gallo, Hucklebee, and Bellomy.
Please be prepared to sing sixteen bars from a musical theater number. Please provide music, as a pianist will be available for harmonic assistance. Auditions will otherwise consist of cold-readings from the script.
Rehearsals will be held on weeknights from mid-June until the performances, which will be August 8th- 12th
Available Roles:
El Gallo (Male)
A rakish, handsome gallant, who is grand and must command attention. Both dashing and sophisticated, El Gallo alternates between the story’s poetic Narrator and the story’s cunning Bandit. A strong voice is essential.
A flat-High G
Baritone
Bellomy (Male or Female)
A merchant, a meticulous gardener. Essentially likable, and forgivably flawed.
A-High F sharp
Baritone/Alto
Hucklebee (Male or Female)
Former navy man/woman, also a picky gardener. Essentially likeable, and forgivably flawed.
