The Bijou Theatre located in Bijou Square, Bridgeport, is excited to announce open call auditions for “Super Zeros,” directed by Juan Ayala and written by Mat Young. This will be the third in The Bijou’s Kids’ Theatre Series, which previously featured “The Witch, The Broom, and The Cauldron,” and “Santa’s Crazier Christmas.” Auditions are open for young adults ages 13-22.
ABOUT THE SHOW:
“Super Zeros” written by Mat Young is an original adventure of heroic proportion! Join a misfit group of misplaced super kids as they learn what it takes to become a hero and save the day. With some help from the audience they might just make it out changed for the better.
ABOUT THE AUDITIONS:
Open call auditions will take place on Thursday, February 26th from 7:00pm-9:00pm, and Saturday, February 28th from 2:00pm-5:00pm. Actors will audition in order of arrival. All auditions will take place at The Bijou Arts Center, 277 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport, CT. The Bijou Arts Center is located on the second floor upon entering the glass door next to The Bijou Theatre Box Office. Ascend the stairs directly opposite the glass door. Signs will be posted.
“Super Zeros” requires young actors who can also sing and move well. Most roles featured, and all roles are open; Non-Equity, no pay. All types and ethnicities are encouraged to audition; ages 13 – 22 only. All actors should bring a current headshot (or recent photo) and one-page acting resume or list of theater/performing experience. Please prepare a song in your strongest style to perform a cappella. You may be asked to read from the script.
ABOUT THE PRODUCTION:
General rehearsal schedule for “Super Zeros” will be determined based on cast availability and age. All rehearsals will take place within the range of Mondays through Wednesdays from 6:00pm-9:00pm, Thursdays and Fridays from 4:00pm-7:00pm, and weekends if necessary. Rehearsals begin around March 3rd.
The performances will take place Saturday, April 18 at 11:00am, Sunday April 19 at 2:00pm, Saturday April 25 at 10:00am and 1:00pm, and Sunday May 3 at 2:00pm and 5:00pm at The Bijou Theatre, 275 Fairfield Ave., Bridgeport.
