OCEAN STATE THEATRE COMPANY ANNOUNCES
CHILDREN’S AUDITIONS FOR SUMMER PRODUCTION OF
SHREK: THE MUSICAL
Ocean State Theatre Company announces Open Children’s Auditions for its 2017 summer production of Shrek: The Musical. Needed are:
Young Fiona: Female. 8-10. Solo voice. Locked in the tower as a child she has only been isolated for a short time. Will possibly double as Young Shrek and/or Grumpy. (Must be under 58 inches.)
Young Shrek: Male. 8-10. Solo voice. Plays our hero ogre as a child. Will possibly double as Young Fiona and/or Baby Bear. (Must be under 58 inches.)
Teen Fiona: Female. 12-17. Solo voice. Growing weary of her isolation she dreams of a bigger world. She will double as ensemble taking on various small roles throughout the play.
Selected children will need to be available for afternoon, evening and weekend rehearsals and performances from June 18 – July 23. (Possible extension to July 30.)
Open auditions will be held on Monday, April 3 from 4:30 pm–7:00 pm.

Those auditioning should enter through the main lobby doors and bring their headshot or a recent photo and resume (if available). Children should come with a short prepared song, preferably with sheet music. A cappella is also acceptable. No tape recorders or CD players. Those asked to stay may learn a short dance combination and/or be asked to do cold readings from the script. Please bring or wear appropriate shoes for dancing. Sign-up will begin 30 minutes prior to the posted audition time.
