2015 SUMMER INTENSIVE PROGRAM
Auditions for the Annual Four Week Professional Dance Program Take Place at Western Kentucky University from 2:30 – 4 p.m.
The Ruth Page School of Dance, located at 1016 N. Dearborn St., Chicago, announces the Arlington Heights audition date for its four week 2015 Summer Intensive Program taking place June 22 – July 17. The audition will take place on Saturday, Feb. 28 at Western Kentucky University, 1906 College Heights Blvd, Gordon Wilson Hall. Registration begins at 2 p.m. and auditions will be held from 2:30 – 4 p.m. and there is an audition fee of $15. The intensive offers a program for the young dancer from the pre-professional to professional level, aged 10 and older, that will introduce the dancer to the demands of a professional career. Summer Intensive students can choose to participate in a full-day or half-day program with the option of attending any or all of the four weeks. A Saturday Master Class is available on its own, or as part of the full-day program. Students wishing to perform in the Summer Program Performance at the conclusion of the Summer Intensive must attend all four weeks, full-day. Half day program is available at $290 per week and the full day program is $590 per week. Standalone Saturday master classes are $25.Work study and need-based scholarships are available on a limited basis. With internationally renowned master teachers and Ruth Page’s highly regarded School faculty, the program provides appropriate dance technique classes designed to provide far-reaching improvement for each student. Focus is placed on developing the whole dancer by offering classes according to level in Ballet Technique, Pre-Pointe, Pointe, Variations, Pas De Deux, Modern, Contemporary, Jazz, Character, Pilates, Afro-Cuban, Muscle Awareness, among others.
The Ruth Page School of Dance is pleased to present the “The International Dance Experience” as part of the 2015 Summer Intensive, featuring guest artists and instructors from Escuela Nacional de Ballet (Cuba) and Mandala Dance Company (Italy). This program is part of a cultural exchange focusing on approaches to dance, especially ballet and contemporary dance.
Guest instructors include Paola Sorressa (Mandala Dance Company), Ramona de Saa Bello (Escuela Nacional de Ballet), Dean Badolato (Former New York City Broadway actor and dancer), Patrick Simonello (River North Dance Chicago) and more.
