A new musical lovingly ripped off from the motion picture "Monty Python and the Holy Grail". Winner of the 2005 Tony Award for Best musical, Monty Python'sSPAMALOT tells the myth of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table a la Monty Python with dancing divas and knights, cross-dressing, hurled cows, killer rabbits and flatulent Frenchmen.
Performances take place June 6-30.

Auditions for speaking and singing roles, male and female as well as the wandering minstrels will be held at Cotuit Center for the Arts at the following times:
Saturday Jan 26, 2 - 5pm
Monday Jan 28, 6 - 9pm
Wednesday Jan 30, 6 - 9pm.
Auditions for Dancers will be held at the Cape Cod Conservatory in Barnstable on
Thursday, January 31 from 5:15-6:15
and again on the same Thursday from 7:30-8:15.
Another dance audition will take place on Saturday February 2 at 2 PM at the Conservatory.
Possible call-backs Saturday February 2 at the Conservatory from 3-5 PM.
CHARACTERS:
KING ARTHUR (Late 30's to 60's)
The King of England who sets out on a quest to form the Knights of the Roundtable and find theHoly rail. Great Humor. Good singer
SIR ROBIN (Late 20's to 40's)
A Knight of the Roundttable. Ironically called 'Sir Robin the Brave,' though he couldn't be more cowardly. Joins the Knights for the singing and dancing.
SIR LANCELOT d/b/a LANCE (Late 20's to 40's)
A Knight of the Rountable. He is fearless to a bloody fault, but through a twist of fate, does discover is 'softer side.'
PATSY (30's to 50's)
King Arthur's horse and servant. Under appreciated but lalways longing for King Arthur's approval. Good, funny, physical mover with some dancing ability.
SIR GALAHAD (30's to 40's)
A Knight of the Roundtable. Begins as Dennis, a lower class 'mud gatherer' who becomes Knighted and transforms into the dashing Sir Galahad. Strong baritenor singing required.
SIR BEDEVERE (20's to 40's)
A Knight of the Roundtable. An inept scholar. No solo singing.
THE LADY OF THE LAKE (20's to 40's)
A Diva. Strong, beautiful, possesses mystical powers. The leading lady of the show. Great singing voice is essential, as she must be able to sing effortlessly in may styles and vocal registers.
HISTORIAN
A tweedy academic.
DENNIS/GALAHAD'S MOTHER
A shrill peasant woman.
PRINCE HERBERT'S FATHER
A wealthy, brutish Yorkshire man at odds with his sensitive son.
TIM THE ENHANTER
A ghostly being with a scottish accent.
CONCORDE
Sir Lancelot's horse and servant.
BROTHER MAYNARD
A long winded monk.
THE FRENCH TAUNTER
An arrogant, condescending, over-the top Frenchman.
KNIGHT OF NI
An absurd, cartoonish leader oft a peculiar group of Knights.
GUARD 1

The drunken and useless guard.
MAYOR OF FINLAND
A jolly, red-faced man who advertises the merits of his home town.
THE BLACK KNIGHT
A knight who is always ready to duel despite multiple injuries.
NOT DEAD FRED
A sickly little fellow who, dispute others' beliefs, claims he is "not yet dead."
FRENCH GUARD
The condemnatory French sidekick to the French Taunter
PRINCE HERBERT
The hopeful and frilly prince who loves to sing and pines for his love atop a tower.
