Audition Requirements:
Bring headshot and resume. Be prepared to cold-read both male and female roles from the script.
Community Theater. Non-Equity. There is no pay.
Synopsis: A combination of Gidget and The Three Faces of Eve, this spoof features a gender-bending cast, surfer culture, and a good girl/bad girl story, all set on a Malibu beach in 1962.
Casting the following roles:
Chicklet (M or F, teens): Sweet innocent Gidget type who has multiple personalities, including a sultry dominatrix.
Berdine (F, teens): Chicklet's nerdy best friend
Kanaka (M, 20-35): Hunky full-time surf bum, secretly yearns to be dominated
Marvel Ann (F, teens): Sex kitten, Chicklet's rival
Mrs. Forrest (M or F, 30-50): Mommie Dearest, jaded with men and the world, over the top
Star Cat (M, teens): Hunky surfer dude, studying to be a doctor
Provoloney (M or F, teens): Macho surfer dude, ends up in a same-sex relationship
Yo Yo (M or F, teens): Macho surfer dude, ends up in a same-sex relationship
Bettina (F, 20s): Glamorous movie star of low-budget horror films
Nicky (M, teens): Beachgoer
DeeDee (F, teens): Beachgoer
Note: We are open to cross-casting on ALL roles, especially those marked M or F. Everyone except Mrs. Forrest wears swimsuits or beach clothes.
