Open auditions will be held at the County Players Falls Theatre, 2681 W. Main Street in the Village of Wappingers Falls. This November Main Stage Production is directed by Bill Peckham. Performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday July 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, & 22 at 8pm, with scheduled 2pm matinees on Sunday, July 16, and Saturday, July 22.

“On Golden Pond” by Ernest Thompson is a humorous and heartwarming play about love, reconnection, and family. After an unexpected relationship blooms, a family reunites during an unforgettable summer. Come back to the pond one more time and see this American classic.
Summary: This play is packed with charm and wit. Retirees Norman and Ethel Thayer spend their summers at their vacation home on the idyllic shores of Golden Pond in Maine. This year their daughter, Chelsea, visits with her new fiancé, Bill and his teenage son, Billy. On their way to Europe, they leave Billy to spend the summer. On their return, Chelsea attempts to repair her long-strained relationship with her aging father.
Requirements: Open audition at the theater with readings taken from the scripts provided (2nd Revision). Ages indicated below are approximate. Be prepared to provide any conflicts between mid-May and July 23. Conflicts may, but may not affect casting.
All Roles Open:
NORMAN THAYER (65-75 yrs) – aging with some senility, a curmudgeon and cantankerous man softened with a great wit. Loves Ethyl but has a strained relationship With his daughter, Chelsea.
ETHEL THAYER – (60-75yrs) – spritely, active woman with a great passion for life and love. A caregiver and sweetheart.
CHARLIE MARTIN– (35-45) local mailman, old family friend, single, has a crush On Chelsea, typical down-Easterner with a good laugh.
CHELSEA THAYER – (35-45) – daughter, engaged to Bill Ray, attractive, intelligent, struggles with her past relationship with her father.
BILL RAY – (35-45 Yrs) – Chelsea’s fiancé and Billy’s father. Not the outdoors type, Tries to impress Norman and Ethyl.
BILLY RAY, JR – (12-15 yrs) – teenage son of Bill, typical California teen, develops a friendship with Norman and fishing.
