Due to the recent weather event, and out of an abundance of caution, Way Off Broadway's producers have decided to postpone the auditions for its upcoming production of Noises Off. Originally scheduled to be held this evening, January 25th, auditions will now take place on Monday, February 1st beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the theatre.

Noises Off is a play-within-a-play that captures a touring theatre troupe’s production of Nothing’s On in three stages: dress rehearsal, the opening performance, and a performance towards the end of a debilitating run. Michael Frayne gives us a window into the inner workings of theatre behind the scenes, progressing from flubbed lines and missed cues in the dress rehearsal to mounting friction between cast members in the final performance. Brimming with slapstick comedy, Noises Off is a delightful backstage farce, complete with slamming doors, falling trousers, and, of course, flying sardines.

Noises Off is arguably the funniest play ever written,” says Bill Kiska, Way Off Broadway’s Executive Producer. “More often than not, the funniest things that happen during any performance don’t happen on stage in front of the audience. They happen backstage and that is what Noises Off is all about, what happens behind the scenes.”

The show will be Way Off Broadway’s spring production and will run from March 4th through April 23rd with performances every Friday and Saturdayafternoon and matinees on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sunday of each month.

Noises Off was written by Michael Frayn and will be directed for Way Off Broadway by Justin M. Kiska, who directed the fall’s record breaking production of The Addams Family.
