Auditions for Next Fall
Elmwood Playhouse in Nyack NY will be holding auditions for its upcoming production of Next Fall, written by Geoffrey Nauffts and directed by Larry D. Gabbard. Next Fall is a moving, provocative, sometimes stinging, and often funny picture of modern romance, asking questions about commitment, love, and faith.
AUDITIONS: Monday, June 10, 2019 at 7:30pm and Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 7:30pm
CALLBACKS: Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 7:30pm (by invitation only)
PERFORMANCES: Friday, September 13, 20196 thru Saturday, October 5, 2019 (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with possible Wednesday and Thursdays)
SHOW DESCRIPTION:
Luke believes in God. Adam believes in everything else. The play portrays the ups and downs of this unlikely couple with sharp humor & unflinching honesty, looking at faith, commitment, unconditional love, forcing us to examine what it means to “believe” and what it might cost us not to.
CAST REQUIREMENTS: (4 Males, 2 Females)
Auditions are open to all ages, types and ethnicities. Actors should be willing to engage in in the psychologically of character behaviors; have knowledge or be willing to learn a little about the politics of sexuality and theories of religion; and be comfortable with close human same-sex contact.
ADAM, 35-45-ish, a substitute teacher
LUKE, 20-30-ish, an aspiring actor, Adam's partner (at least appear 15-18 years younger than Adam)
HOLLY, 30-ish, a candle shop owner, Adam's close friend
BRANDON, 30-ish, a property developer
ARLENE, 50-ish, a divorcee, Luke's mother
BUTCH, 55-ish, a businessman, Luke's father
