OCEAN STATE THEATRE COMPANY ANNOUNCES

CHILDREN'S AUDITIONS FOR MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS

Ocean State Theatre Company announces Open Children’s Auditions for its 2014 holiday production of Meet Me in St. Louis. Needed are:

One strong female actor/singer, under 58” tall, to play the role of Agnes Smith. Children auditioning should look no older than 12 years old and be able to hold their part in multi-part harmony. Also looking for an understudy.

One strong female actor/singer, under 48” tall, to play the role of Tootie Smith. Children auditioning should look no older than 8 years old and be able to hold their part in multi-part harmony. Also looking for an understudy.

Up to three male singer/dancers, over 54” tall, to be part of the acting ensemble. Children auditioning should look between 10 and 17 years old and be able to execute intermediate choreography.

Up to three female singer/dancers, over 54” tall, to be part of the acting ensemble. Children auditioning should look between 13 and 17 years old and be able to execute intermediate choreography.

Selected children will need to be available for afternoon, evening and weekend rehearsals and performances from November 28 – December 28, 2014

Open auditions for Agnes and Tootie will be held on Sunday, September 7 from 12 noon – 2:00 pm.

Open auditions for Ensemble Boys and Girls will be held on Sunday, September 7 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm.

Auditions will be held at: Ocean State Theatre

1245 Jefferson Boulevard

Those auditioning should enter through the main lobby doors and bring their headshot or a recent photo and resume (if available). Children should come with a short prepared song, preferably with sheet music. A cappella is also acceptable. No tape recorders or CD players. Those asked to stay may learn a short dance combination and/or be asked to do cold readings from the script. Please bring or wear appropriate shoes for dancing. Sign-up will begin at 11:30 am for Agnes and Tootie and at 1:30pm for Ensemble children.
