PEREGRINE THEATRE ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR RENT AND HAMLET

Peregrine Theatre Ensemble will hold auditions for their
2014 summer season Tuesday and Wednesday March 18-19th from 4pm-8pm at the Provincetown
Theater, 238 Bradford Street Provincetown, MA 02657. Additional auditions will be held Friday
and Saturday March 21st and 22nd from 12pm- 6pm in New York, NY (location for NYC
auditions will be provided upon confirmation of audition date and time). Auditions are by
appointment. Please call (774) 538-9084 and leave name, primary contact number, & preferred
audition date, time and location. You may also email your headshot and resume to
PeregrineTheatre@gmail.com and request your preferred date, time and location. Please also
inform us if you will be auditioning for RENT, HAMLET or both productions. Those who do not
have an appointment are welcome to walk-in and audition and will be seen on a first come first
served basis as time permits. A monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of
this audition. All actors cast will receive a stipend and are responsible for their own housing on
Cape Cod for rehearsals and performances. Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are
encouraged to attend.

HAMLET
Director Jake Ford
Seeking versatile male and female performers to play various roles in Hamlet. Please bring a
headshot and resume stapled together. Sides will be provided at the audition. Please be familiar
with the play Hamlet and be prepared to work one on one with the director. These auditions will
also serve as callbacks so you may be asked to stay longer than your allotted time.

First rehearsal May 12th, 2014 in Provincetown MA. Performance dates are Monday –
Wednesday, June 23-25; Monday - Thursday June 30th- July 3rd; and then every consecutive
Thursday from July 10th- September 4th at the Provincetown Theater. Those cast in Hamlet will
also participate in the Theatre for Young Audiences version of the play, which will be performed
every Thursday at 5pm prior to the 7:30pm show. There will also be a few performances at other
various venues on the Cape so actors must be available to tour on some weekends throughout the
summer.






RENT
Director Kenneth Mitchell
Seeking vocally strong performers for the following roles:

ANGEL DUMOTT SCHUNARD The eccentric HIV-positive street drummer. A drag queen with
an incredible gift of dance and a magnetic personality. He
becomes Tom's lover.
Male, 20-30 yrs. old
Range: C3 - A4

BENJAMIN COFFIN III

The landlord of Mark and Roger's apartment building. A former
roommate in the loft, Benny traded in his personal morals for
power and wealth.
Male, 25-35 yrs. old
Range: Bb2 - F#4


TOM COLLINS A computer genius and liberal professor. He is a nurturer with
a smooth and relaxed disposition. Used to be a roommate in
the loft and is HIV-positive.
Male, 25-35 yrs. old
Range: F#2 - A4

ENSEMBLE Ages 18-45
Homeless men & women; junkies
Steve, man with squeegee, a waiter, and others
Paul, a cop, and others
Mark's mom, and others;
Alexi Darling, Roger's mom, and others;
Gordon, the man, Mr. Grey, and others
Mrs. Jefferson, woman with bags, Seasons of Love soloist and
others Christmas caroler, Mr. Jefferson, a pastor and others


Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to attend.

Please bring a headshot and resume stapled together. Those auditioning should prepare a song in
the style of the show. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music in the
appropriate key. These auditions will also serve as callbacks so you may be asked to stay and sing
a song from the show. Please be available to stay longer than your allotted time if asked.
