South Bend Civic Theatre seeks vaudeville talents for Gypsy February 18
South Bend Civic Theatre will hold auditions for people with vaudeville style talents
February 18th
at 1:00 PM in the Wilson Mainstage at South Bend Civic Theatre. Do you
have a special skill: juggling, dancing, singing, classic comedy, magic tricks? SBCT
needs you for Gypsy! To fill out the world of the musical, we need classic acts
hearkening back to the glory days of vaudeville. Come ready to show off your talent
and join us for recreating a magical bygone entertainment.
One of the legendary classics of the musical theatre, Gypsy is the mother of all backstage
parent stories. Mama Rose pushes her daughters to stardom in the waning days of
vaudeville, no matter the cost. Featuring some of the greatest songs in musical history:
“Let Me Entertain You,” “Together Wherever We Go,” “All I Need is the Girl,” and
“Everything’s Coming Up Roses.” Written by Arthur Laurents, with music by Jule
Styne and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, this is sure to be a highlight of SBCT’s 2012
season.
Gypsy will perform on the South Bend Civic Theatre mainstage April 27 to May 13.
