Toby’s Dinner Theatre is seeking non-equity actors for :
GHOST – the musical.
Adapted from the hit film, GHOST THE MUSICAL follows Sam and Molly, a young couple whose connection takes a shocking turn after Sam’s untimely death. The bond of love transcends the boundaries of life itself to grow stronger and more fully realized. Trapped between two worlds, Sam refuses to leave Molly when he learns she is in grave danger. Desperate to communicate with her, he turns to a storefront psychic, Oda Mae Brown, who helps him protect Molly and avenge his death.
SEEKING:
SAM WHEAT (Male) vocal range: G# to Bb (pop/rock tenor with high belt, falsetto); a charming office worker living with his true love Molly; after being killed during a botched mugging, his love for his partner enables him to remain on earth as a Ghost; he seeks the help of a medium to protect Molly; the ability to play guitar is a plus but not essential.

MOLLY JENSEN (Female) vocal range: G3 to Eb5 (pop/rock with strong belt); an artist living with her boyfriend, Sam, until he's murdered; finding it difficult to cope with the grief, she turns to Carl for comfort as she tries to find inner peace and strength. (be familiar with With You)
ODA MAE BROWN (Black Female) vocal range: Ab3 to F5; Larger than life character, con artist, store-front medium with a heart of gold. Comes from a family of people who had “the gift” but never had it herself until Sam turns up so doesn’t know how to handle this new situation. (Be familiar with Are You a Believer)
CARL BRUNER (Male) vocal range: Eb3 to A4; a friend and colleague of Sam's but with a twinge of resentment towards him; a botched mugging orchestrated by Carl results in Sam’s death; after as much as he can get – money and Molly. (be familiar with Life Turns on a Dime)
WILLIE LOPEZ/ENSEMBLE (Puerto Rican Male) at Carl’s wishes, he attempts to rob Sam's wallet; resulting in Sam’s death.
CLARA/ ENSEMBLE (Black Female) Oda Mae’s assistant, loud and proud and shameless, versatile actress with a strong voice
AUDITION INFORMATION:
Open auditions will be held at 10:00am on Saturday April 16th at Toby’s Dinner Theatre, 5900 Symphony Woods Road, Columbia, MD.
Must sign in by 12 noon. Please do not arrive before 9:30am.
Please bring a headshot and resume, two 16 bar vocal audition selections and any known rehearsal/performance conflicts to list on the audition sheet.
You may be asked to stay for an immediate callback or asked to return at a later date – TBD.
All roles paid with option to wait tables as well.
GHOST - THE MUSICAL - REHEARSAL/PERFORMANCE INFORMATION:
Run dates: August 26, 2022 – November 6, 2022
Rehearsals: Rehearsals will begin June 11th 2022 and will be held on
Mondays from 5/6pm – 10:30pm, Tuesdays from 5/6pm – 10:30pm and Saturdays from 10am – 3pm.
Some daytime/weekday rehearsal availability will be required for this production TBD with cast availability.
ADDITIONAL INFO: Toby’s is looking for talent that can commit to the entire run and rehearsal process.
