AUDITIONS FOR “FIDDLER ON THE ROOF!”

Theatre UP announces auditions for its fall musical Fiddler on the Roof. Auditions will be held at the Littleton Opera House at 2 Union St on Thursday, August 22nd from 6:00 - 10:00 pm and Sunday, August 25th from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. Callbacks on the 25th at 5:00 PM as necessary. Auditions are held by appointment only. Please visit our website to request an audition slot.

The Production: Fiddler is being directed by UP Artistic Director Andrew Lidestri with choreography by Lidestri & Madalyn Sheehy and music direction by Kristen Bushway. This incredibly famous and long-beloved Tony winning family musical has touched audiences worldwide with its humor, warmth and honesty for over 60 years. Rich in historical and ethnic detail, Fiddler on the Roof's universal themes of tradition and community cut across barriers of race, class, nationality and religion, leaving audiences crying tears of laughter, joy and sadness.

Who we are: UP is a welcoming and nondiscriminatory organization. We are looking for an incredibly diverse and inclusive cast. We encourage community members to attend regardless of age, race, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, and/or experience.

What we’re looking for: Actors, singers, and dancers ages 16 and up are welcome to audition. This show has many characters and a large ensemble with choral singing and musical theatre dance. All roles are open except the fiddler. A full character breakdown is available on our website.

Interested actors are asked to prepare a short song they know well, preferably from musical theatre repertoire. Please bring sheet music. Singing with accompaniment is preferred, and an accompanist will be provided. Actors may be asked to read from the script.
