9 Women and 7 Men
*Members of the cast will also make up the band, so ability to play a musical instrument is a plus though not required for all roles.

For the audition:
Please prepare 16 bars of a Golden Age (1940's - 1960's) song that shows vocal range and acting ability. Please do not sing from the show.

Please come prepared with a headshot and resume as well as a list of any and all conflicts between July 10th and August 20th. We will try our hardest to accommodate your schedule.

First Rehearsal: July 10th
First Day of Tech: August 13th

Character Breakdown:
Fanny: Female, 20-34 entertainer from New York’s lower east side, quirky, fearless, comedic finesse, acting range from impassioned teen to major star, good mover. Mezzo-low G to high F

Mrs. Brice: Female, 50-59, tough Brooklyn/Jewish mother, dryly funny. Mezzo - low bA to C

Nick Arnstein: Male, 30-39, a gambler and the love of Fanny’s life, suave, sophisticated, and charming; must have a strong middle range voice, baritone- low E to high E

Eddie Ryan: Male, 25-35, a song and dance man and Fanny’s closest friend, good comic timing, bright, energetic, sincere; must be a strong singer/dancer who taps. Baritone - low B to high #F

Mrs. Strakosh : Female, 40-60, Mrs. Brice’s poker playing crony, strong, shrill yet funny. Mezzo - low b# to D#

Mrs. Meeker: Female, 40-60, another of Mrs. Brice's cohorts, a comedienne. Mezzo - low A# to B

Mrs. O'Malley: Female, 40-60

Florenz Ziegfeld, Jr./Tom Keeney: Male, 50-70 (One actor will portray both roles)

Ensemble: Male and Female, 20's-40's to play various characters in the world of the musical.
**Ability to play an instrument a plus but not required**

Casting is open to all actors regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, disability, or age.
