Hot on the heels of auditions for PERSONALITY CONFLICTS The Sherman Players will be holding auditions for their second show of the 2023 season

FOUR OLD BROADS

Sunday April 9th and Monday April 10th 2023

At the Sherman Town Hall (9 Route 39 N, Sherman CT, right next door to the Sherman Playhouse) from 7-9.30 pm

Walk-ins and Virtual Submissions welcome. Requests to schedule alternate audition days/times are also welcome.

The production is looking for 1 MAN and 6 WOMEN to complete the cast, with stage ages of 30 to 75. (Younger actors are welcome and if cast, makeup and wigs will be used to “age-up”)

The audition will include reading from provided sides. No monologues needed. Please consider southern accents where applicable.

The Sherman Players do not discriminate – Actors of all races, ethnicities and gender identifications are encouraged to audition.

Roles available:

BEATRICE SHELTON – a former burlesque star with an attitude – Senior Citizen

EADDY MAE CLAYTON – a former nurse and “religious” lady – Senior Citizen

IMOGENE FLETCHER – the newest resident at Magnolia Place – Senior Citizen

PAT JONES – a rude and pushy nurse – 40s-50s

MAUDE JENKINS – a funeral and soap opera obsessed frump – Senior Citizen

SAM SMITH – retired Elvis impersonator and Casanova – Senior Citizen

RUBY SUE BENNETT – a quiet, romance novel loving nurse – 30s

Life has not been at all pleasant at Magnolia Place Assisted Living in Petula, Georgia. Bingo and basket weaving is NOT what the doctor ordered.
Four sassy senior citizens; Beatrice, Eaddy, Imogene and Maude, dish the dirt, fall in love and get into a WHOLE heap of trouble as they find themselves thrown headfirst into solving a dangerous mystery. A roller coaster of hilarity ensues through loads of naughty laughter, happy tears and even an old Elvis impersonator. Will they catch the villain? What happened to Doctor Head? Will Beatrice ever find a man? One thing is certain…these old broads are not YOUR grandmother…or wait…maybe they are.

Audition dates are Sunday April 9th and Monday April 10th from 7:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. at Sherman Town Hall, 9 Route 39 N, Sherman CT.

Sides will be provided. Actors may arrive any time between 7:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. on their chosen dates. Walk-ins welcome. though sign ups for audition times are encouraged.

Rehearsals to be determined after casting upon actor availability.

All actors must be vaccinated against COVID19.
