ACT Announces Auditions For DOUBLEWIDE, TEXAS
Allen’s Community Theatre announces auditions for the Jones, Hope & Wooten new comedy Doublewide, Texas, directed by Leigh Wyatt Moore.
Auditions will be held at Allen’s Community Theatre, 1210 E. Main St., SW corner of Main and Allen Heights, Allen, TX 75002 on Sunday August 14 from 6 - 8pm and Monday August 15 from 7 - 9pm. Callbacks Tuesday August 15 at 7pm. Auditions are open (no appointments necessary) and will be cold readings from the script. Headshots and resumes are appreciated but not required. Please come with your full list of conflicts. Rehearsals will start August 29.
Synopsis: In this hilarious, fast-paced comedy, the inhabitants of one of the smallest trailer parks in Texas—four doublewides and a shed—are thrown for a loop when they realize the nearby town of Tugaloo is determined to annex them. The rollicking mayhem of this flat-out funny Jones Hope Wooten comedy escalates as the residents attempt to secede from Texas, discover a traitor in their midst, and turn the tables in a surprising and side-splitting finale.
