Shakesperience Productions is seeking Resident Actors. Applicants must be Spanish speaking, culturally appropriate Hispanic non-union actors who sing to perform in the upcoming production and tour of “Dia De Los Reyes” and to perform and teach for our Shakespeare workshops and classes.

Resident Actors will appear in some or all of the following:
Dia de los Reyes: Three actors, 55 minute performances accompanied by a pre-show discussion with the audience and talkback. Rehearses in November, tours December and January.
One black Box production, Holidays in Waterbury
Performance Workshops – scripted, interactive Shakespeare, Mythology, Folklore, El Barrio, and other workshops conducted by two actors. Rehearses October, tours November-May.
Residency Programs: work with Elementary-High School students to produce a play. Booked sporadically throughout the year.
We are looking for actors who:
Are passionate about bringing theatre and literature to all types of students.
Will experiment in rehearsal
Explore the relationship between the actor and the audience
Set up and strike the set for each locally touring workshop and performance
Interact as a strong ensemble
Use text to motivate action
Are excited to show the theatricality of the performance
Interact respectfully at all times with school personnel, customers, and students
Maintain the freshness of the first week of the contract and the precision of the final performance.
Are interested in learning proven and innovative techniques of integrating arts and education.
Can drive company van or car
Are off book on the first day of rehearsals
Maintain punctuality– no exceptions. Ten minutes early is “on time.” Calls are early; 6am is not unusual.
Instruct during Saturday Acting Classes grades 2-5 and 6-12
Compensation:
$350-$400/week paid bi-weekly
Furnished housing with internet and laundry
Parking in nearby garage
Paid vacations (5 days at Thanksgiving and 12 over the Winter Break)
