Hey! My name is Caroline Vollmer, and I am the Artistic Director of Meraki Productions, a teen-driven theatre company dedicated to empowering teen artists and creatives to tell bold, meaningful stories through the power of performance.
This year, we’re taking on our most ambitious project yet: a full-scale production of the Broadway classic Cabaret!
Set in 1930s Berlin against the backdrop of a society teetering on the edge of chaos, Cabaret is a powerful exploration of love, identity, and resistance in the face of political and social upheaval, and what happens when you turn a blind eye to what is happening in the world around you. In a world that feels increasingly polarized, the themes of this musical resonate more than ever. “Meraki” means creating something with soul, creativity, and love. At Meraki Productions, we strive to be a testament to the power of youth voices, the importance of art as activism, and the belief that even in the darkest of times, creativity and connection can shine through, and we hope that you will join us in doing so!

Callbacks (by invitation only): February 23rd
Performances will take place at the Waterfront Theatre in South Camden on Saturday, June 21st
Location: Auditions and rehearsals will be held in-person in South Philly. Exact location will be disclosed upon casting (as it is a home address!). Our rehearsal space is only accessible by stairs. Please let us know if you need accommodation.
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
1) Auditions are open to ages 16-22.
2) Must be local to Philadelphia, PA, and have a reliable source of transportation to rehearsals
3) Due to the nature of this production, you MUST receive permission from a parent or guardian to audition for this show if you are between the ages of 16-18 by having them email carolinedeswagny@gmail.com
