The Sherman Playhouse Holds Casting Call for
A British Christmas 'Panto' of
Cinderella
September 17 & 18, 2012
The Sherman Playhouse is seeking a cast of 4 women - ages 10 to 70 and 5 men – ages 10 to 70 – for its family Holiday production of CINDERELLA.
CINDERELLA is being presented as a 'Panto' or Pantomime in the British style. To make it very clear: There is absolutely no miming in British Pantomimes. A Panto is like an American musical comedy with vaudeville routines. There are tuneful songs, funny jokes, and lots and lots of audience participation. It's the perfect Holiday show for children and adults alike, filled with fun, laughter, and happily ever after.
Auditions will be held at The Sherman Playhouse, 5 Route 39 North (next to the fire station), in Sherman, CT.
Auditions are Monday, September 17 and Tuesday, September 18 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Auditioners will be asked to read from the script and should be prepared to sing. Auditioners should bring along sheet music to a song of their choice. An accompanist will be provided. Audition sides will be available at the Playhouse on the nights of the auditions.
The production has been adapted and being directed by British-native Patricia Michael of Dover Plains, N.Y.
All roles are available and both professionals and amateurs are welcome. No appointments are necessary. For more details on the audition and for directions, visit:
