DreamWrights Holds Auditions for comedy, Becky’s New Car
On Monday, June 18 and Tuesday, June 19, beginning at 6:00 pm DreamWrights Center for Community Arts will hold auditions for Becky’s New Car, a delightful comedy written by Steven Dietz. This “middle of the road” comedy highlights Becky Foster’s journey through middle age, middle management and a middling marriage. The tables turn one night when Becky stumbles upon the opportunity for a new life. You get to ride shotgun with fellow audience members down the road not taken.
Back for another spin as DreamWrights Guest Director, Kirk Wisler is eager to bring this show to life. “I had so much fun directing The Beverly Hillbillies, I wanted the chance to direct another comedy, and this one is great,” says Wisler.
Auditions for this production are open to ages 19 – adult. This comedy focuses on middle aged adults with a small cast and many crew positions. No prior experience is necessary. Those auditioning are encouraged to make an audition appointment but walk-ins are welcome. As a character driven show, auditionees are asked to be dynamic with their audition. Audition preparation materials and information on the process can be found online at
www.dreamwrights.org. Audition appointments can be scheduled beginning on May 14 for DreamWrights’ members and on June 1 for the general public.
Becky’s New Car opens Thursday, August 2 and runs August 2, 3, 4, 10 and 11 at 7:00 pm, and August 5 and 12 at 3:00 pm. Tickets may be purchased online at
