The REP announces Equity Principal auditions for A Devil Inside

The REP, Point Park University’s professional theatre company, is accepting Equity Principal auditions by appointment for the production of A Devil Inside written by David Lindsay-Abaire and directed by Kim Martin.

Appointments will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday, August 24, 2017, at Point Park University’s Pittsburgh Playhouse, 222 Craft Ave. A Devil Inside runs February 1 – 18, 2018, Thursdays-Saturdays, 8:00 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. The first rehearsal will be on January 2, 2018.

Cast members will receive a weekly SPT salary of $366.

Seeking 3 men/3 women:

Gene – is twenty-one, boyish and a little naïve. Even in his most profound moments of understanding, he’s still in the dark.

Mrs. Slater – is in her fifties. She’s tough as nails and has experienced loads of tragedy in her life, but still she perseveres. She runs a laundromat.

Carl – is a Russian Literature professor in his fifties, tormented by his relentless thoughts and nightmares.

Caitlin – is barely twenty. She’s a wide-eyed romantic, fiery and impetuous. Despite her fits of toughness, she is a young as Gene is boyish.

Brad – is in his mid-thirties, a ridiculously plain man who longs for something more than the appliance shop that he runs.

Lily – is in her late thirties. She’s physically fit artist with secrets of her own. She’s intriguing and a bit of a mystery.

Callbacks, if needed, will be held at a later date. Actors must audition to be seen at callbacks.

Monologues from the script will be provided when making an appointment. Visually impaired performers may request an advance copy of the sides when making an audition appointment.
