THE COMMUNITY PLAYERS ANNOUNCE
AUDITIONS FOR 9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL
Rhode Island's oldest community theater, The Community Players, currently celebrating their 99th season, will hold auditions for their spring musical 9 to 5 on Sunday, February 2 and Monday, February 3, 2020, (callbacks, if necessary, will be held on Sunday, February 9 at 1:00pm), at St. Margaret’s School, 1098 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence, RI. Sign-in will begin at 6:30 pm, with auditions beginning promptly at 7. (All those auditioning must be signed in by 8:30 pm.)
Director Joan Dillenback, Music Director Ron Procopio and Choreographer Michael Maio are looking for a diverse cast to fill the following roles:
Violet: 40-50 (alto)
Doralee: 20-30 (soprano, high belt)
Judy: 30-35 (soprano, high belt)
Franklin Hart: 45-50 (baritone)
Roz Keith: 35-45 (alto)
Joe: 25-35 (tenor, high baritone)
Dwayne: 25-30
Josh: 15-18
Missy: 20-35
Maria: 20-30
Dick: 35-45
Kathy: 30-40
Margaraet: 30-40
Tinsworthy: 50-65
Ensemble: office employees, police officers, hospital employees
All roles are open.
Those auditioning should bring sheet music and prepare 16 bars of an up-tempo song (not from 9 to 5). An accompanist will be provided. Be prepared and dressed to dance. The audition may also include cold readings from the script.
The show will be produced at Jenks Auditorium on May 8, 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17, 2020.
