Student Blog: Meet Kylien Clark! Image

Hi! My name is Kylien Clark; I’m a second-year student majoring in Architecture & minor in Theatre/Set Design at the University of Miami. I’ve been a theatre kid since elementary and have always been an artist; from architecture and painting to scribbling doodles on the margins of my paper. When I was in middle school my love for theatre overflowed and it hit me that my future could be combined from the two passions I love: art & theatre! My fondest theatrical memory was when I walked into the Gershwin Theatre for the first time and analyzed its architecture and set design, and remember it to this day.

I’ve volunteered as a camp counselor and teacher aid for local summer camps. I was in charge of the social media accounts as the historian in my high school Mu Alpha Theta (Mathletes) and the National English Honor Society. Additionally, in both clubs, I organized fundraiser events and activities. As an architecture student at the University of Miami, I’m part of the Alpha Rho Chi (Architectural Fraternity) where we work on projects, opportunities, and volunteering. For instance, we’ve recently participated with the Chapman Soup Kitchen to help design a new kitchen for the less fortunate. I’ve always enjoyed being able to include my creativity in projects that build a community. I look forward to being part of this team of bloggers and can’t wait to see what the future holds!
