Elizabeth Charcas is a student blogger who writes about her academic journey, the challenges she faces, and the lessons she learns along the way.
With the beginning of a new semester come new classes, new friends, and new challenges. However, as a new college student, the typical new things happening become more anxiety-inducing because it is a new transition from high school to college. For me, the transition from high school to college became a reality this semester. In June 2023, I graduated high school after four years of hard work, making friendships, and doing many extracurriculars such as band, track, and finding a passion for musical theater. High school was a transformative time when I discovered who I was and what I liked. Although it was not the easiest at times, I learned many valuable lessons that will stay with me for the rest of my life. One lesson I learned is to never give up when times get tough and to keep on going.
After graduating high school, I decided to attend Fullerton College. I decided to attend Fullerton College because of its proximity to my house and the fact that tuition is free for first-time students. Fullerton College offers many opportunities that I look forward to taking advantage of. Currently, I am pursuing a degree in pre-nursing because I enjoy helping others in my free time, and I believe I will thrive in this environment. The current classes I am taking are English, probability statistics, and chemistry. This semester so far has not been easy for me, particularly because I am a first-time college student, which means I have had to adjust my schedule to not having back-to-back classes but having them spread out throughout the day. Not only that but finding out how much to study for each class makes me very grateful that I have made friends in college that I can hang out with during my free time. Although I am still adjusting, I think I'm starting to get the hang of things in college. I look forward to completing my degree in nursing and making an impactful difference in the world when I am older. I also look forward to further pursuing my love of theater, although I am fairly new to doing musicals and plays. I look forward to doing many more musicals and gaining experience from people, and I also look forward to writing and directing my original work.
Now that I have talked about my educational goals and my semester breakdown, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Elizabeth Charcas. I am currently an eighteen-year-old student who lives in Yorba Linda, California. I am thrilled to have the chance to tell you a little bit about myself. One fascinating fact about me is that I aspire to run the Boston Marathon when I am older. Another dream that I would like to accomplish is to be able to write and direct my own musical one day. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a student blogger this semester. I am looking forward to writing many more blog posts in the coming months about different topics and giving my views on these different topics.
