GULFSHORE PLAYHOUSE SEEKS SUMMER EDUCATION PROGRAM MUSIC DIRECTOR
Gulfshore Playhouse, a not-for-profit, professional theatre company located in Naples, Florida, is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented and organized individual to serve as Music Director for our Teen Cabaret. This individual will have the opportunity to work and rehearse with students ages 13-18 beginning June 27th, 2022 through July 20th, 2022.
Gulfshore Playhouse Education offers a range of after-school classes and summer theatre camp programs to students of all ages. These thoroughly enriching programs give students the chance to receive training in acting, voice, and movement from theatre professionals. Through a wide-range of summer theatre camp and after-school class programs, Gulfshore Playhouse Education is a place where every child can fit in and stand out, growing not only as performers, but as people.
Status: Summer seasonal position
Dates: June 27th, 2022 – July 20th, 2022
Representative Duties:
• Attend rehearsals, pre-production, and production meetings
• Rehearse and train students for the Cabaret
• Maintain professional relationships with students, parents, production staff, and Gulfshore Playhouse Team
• Work alongside all departments at Gulfshore Playhouse, including production, administration, and house
• Work and regularly meet with the Director of Education, Director, Choreographer, Stage Manager, and Production Team
• Provide various morning workshops to students focused on voice and music
• Attend and conduct Cabaret performance on July 20th
• Render such other services as may reasonably be required by the Producer as are customarily furnished by the Director
The ideal candidate is a strong, team-spirited self-starter who is excited to join a tireless, rapidly-growing, and attitude-forward education program. Candidates should be friendly, excellent with patrons, staff, and students alike, and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. They should also be passionate about working with students, and watching them grow throughout the program. The Playhouse values hard work, kindness, generosity, passion, and grace-under-pressure.
Qualifications:
• 18 years or older
• Holds a BA or BFA in Theatre, Musical Theatre, Music, Music Education, etc.
• Three to five years of music directing experience
• Proficient in vocal, choral, piano, keyboard, etc.
• Advanced skills in sight-reading, musical analysis, and transposition
• Outstanding written and verbal communication and organizational skills
• Strong Leadership, time management, and multitasking skills
• Ability to give clear instructions and make decisions
• Dedication and commitment to the production
• Flexibility and easy adaptability to sudden updates and changes
• Transportation provided for those traveling from out of state.

*Must be available for all those dates Monday-Friday + Cabaret performance
Contract Includes:
Paid stipend.
Furnished housing with a private bedroom and shared living space, internet and cable is available.
