Moms: The Musical™ New York City Workshop - Surette & Hall Musicals

Seeking Non-Union musical theater actors for a New York City workshop of Surette & Hall’s Moms: The Musical™.



For female roles, please submit a headshot/resume and a video of you singing a full-length musical theater song in the style of the show that shows off your mix/belt and acting abilities to suretteandhall@gmail.com by May 17, 2021. JUSTINE: (leading role) a career mom, age 27- 40. Strong mix/belter. $500.00 stipend.



MIA: (leading role) a bubbly stay-at-home Mom, age 25 - 40. Soprano/mix/belter. $500.00 stipend.



DOREEN/JOAN: (supporting role), age: 50’s-60’s. Mix/belter. Justine’s mother-in-law/also plays Justine’s mother. $250.00 stipend.



RENATTA: (supporting role) part of a “mom’s group chat,” age 27- 40. Preferably African-American. Mezzo-soprano-belter. $175.00 stipend.



JADE: (supporting role) part of a “mom’s group chat,” age 27-40. Preferably Asian or BIPOC. Alto-belter. Comedic timing a plus. $175.00 stipend.



MARK: (supporting role - non-singing.) Justine’s husband, age 27-40. $100.00 stipend.



SCOTT: (supporting role - non-singing.) Mia’s husband, age 27-40. $100.00 stipend.





REHEARSAL SCHEDULE:

Callbacks will be held at Ripley Grier Studio at 939 8th Ave. on May 29th from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm by appointment only.

Virtual coachings will be scheduled until June 26th.

In-person rehearsals will take place at Ripley Grier Studio, 939 8th Ave on:

June 26th & 27th - 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

July 10th & 11th - 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

July 17th & 18th - 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

July 24th 10:00 am - 5:00 pm with a 2:00 matinee workshop performance.



ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

All performers will be required to sign a media release allowing the creative team to use photos, videos, and the workshop recording for both professional and promotional purposes.. All participants will receive a video recording of the workshop for their own professional use.

Both find that striving for perfection leads to struggle, but ultimately - growth.
