Seeking Producer for Spring 2023 Original Play Production

Producer for production of new play LAST ROOM, inspired by Anthony Bourdain



Performing May 2023, with rehearsals beginning March/April



Paid ($500 minimum)



OVERVIEW



We are part of the creative team for LAST ROOM, an original one-act play by writer Mitch Moxley inspired by the life of Anthony Bourdain. After an extremely well-received staged reading in June 2022, we are moving forward with plans to fully mount the show in an untraditional performance space (likely a loft or gallery space) with an off-off-Broadway seating capacity, with performances tentatively planned for May 2023.



This play requires only two actors and functions well when performed in an immersive, intimate setting. We have already secured our lead actor and director, but we are looking to expand our team as we move this show into a larger, more dynamic presentation.



We are seeking an energetic, passionate, and hard-working individual to join us as a producer. Specifically, we are seeking someone who will be dedicated to spearheading the logistical and organizational challenges inherent to this production. Those include helping us secure a performance space, coordinating with our director to secure any materials needed for the production, collaborating with our publicity team to help build audience interest in advance of the performance run, and taking the lead on solving any day-to-day challenges we may encounter along the way.



We are currently at work securing financing for this modestly-budgeted show. If you could assist with attracting investors to the show, that would be welcome, but it is absolutely not required for this role.



WHAT IS REQUIRED?



A commitment to and full alignment with our creative vision for how and where this play will be staged



An eagerness to build your own portfolio as a producer by joining the team for this off-off-Broadway play, one we all passionately believe in



A deep enthusiasm for working in theater as a problem-solver and practical, solutions-oriented partner to creatives



The role will be compensated, though will necessarily be rather limited, considering this show’s estimated budget
