Hiring Actor-Educators for our 2023-2024 Season! - Speak About It

Speak About It is hiring Actor-Educators for our Orientation Tour and extended season.



This summer, we will gather for two weeks of training that mixes rehearsal with educational workshops. This prepares our actor-educators to tour our flagship show, presenting the show and associated student training with students across the country for about three weeks.



We offer the opportunity to extend your contract for pickup shows throughout the season. So if you’re passionate about healthy relationships, love to tour and travel, or are intrigued to learn more about educational performance, this could be the job for you.



You can also apply to be a cast Manager. This is a great position for folks who are logistically-minded and excited in growing your leadership skills, alongside working as an actor-educator.



A bit about us: Speak About It, Inc. is a nonprofit that provides performance-based sexual assault prevention programs to colleges and high schools across the country and the world. Our goal is to educate, entertain, and empower students to take an active role in sexual assault prevention and create positive change in their communities. Our programs advocate affirmative consent, promote awareness of healthy sexual choices, and encourage empathy.



We are committed to inclusivity, and welcome a diversity of folks with different work experiences, gender identities, racial backgrounds, and sexual orientations. This show uses performance tracks, and while some tracks represent specific gender identities, others are open to all.



ROLES:

BB: (character uses he/him pronouns) Boy next door, bro with a heart of gold, golden retriever energy.



CC: (character uses he/him and/or they/them pronouns) Has a never-ending supply of puns, goofy and earnest, theatre kid energy.



DATES:

Training: July 10-July 21 in Portland, ME (Housing provided)

Tour: Mid August to early September.



PAY:

Travel: $15/hr

Training: $19/hr Actor-Educator, $20/hr Managing Actor-Educator

Programs: $28/hr Actor-Educator, $32/hr Managing Actor-Educator
