Asolo Rep seeks an artist to adapt and direct a 45 min version of a Shakespearean piece for Asolo Rep's annual Educational "Tour" in the fall of 2021 utilizing the rising third year MFA acting class from the FSU/Asolo Conservatory Training program as the cast. In previous years the production has physically toured throughout schools and communities in the state of Florida during October and November. This year, to accommodate needs in terms of COVID Safety, etc. the production will be staged in Asolo Rep's Cook Theatre according to safety protocols, filmed, and may also have some outdoor touring dates.
Applicants selected to interview will be asked to submit concept proposal of for their 45-minute adaptation of the specific play - more details will be sent upon scheduling of said interview.

BardWired is an introduction to Shakespeare's work that is designed to break free of stigmas, using imaginative theatrical and filmmaking techniques to help Shakespearean language and stories connect with new generations of literature-lovers. We work to make our online production, interactive resources, and learning activities exciting, accessible, and responsive to our students, educators, and community members.
Presented by Asolo Rep and the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training, BardWired creates innovative and accessible 45-minute adaptations of Shakespeare’s work. This program is adapted from our award-winning On Tour program, which has made professional live theatrical experiences accessible to over 15,000 students per year since 2008.
