Drama Desk Award-winning TADA! Youth Theater actively seeks an Assistant Stage Manager for its upcoming Spring production. An ideal candidate would have previous experience stage managing and working with youth that are represented in our Ensemble. Must be patient, organized, detail-oriented, willing to take initiative, and an excellent communicator and collaborator with young people and adults. Cast members will have a variety of experience.

COMPENSATION: This is a part-time salaried position paid twice a month, $425 per week for 8 weeks, $3400 total.
COMMITMENT: March 30, 2022 through May 22, 2022
-Auditions: March 31st 3:00-8:00pm
-Rehearsals: Wednesdays-Saturdays, April 2nd-April 29th. Wed/Thurs 3:00-7:30pm; Fri 3:00-8:30pm; Sat 1:00-6:30pm
-Tech: Saturday-Friday, April 30th-May 5th (Mon/Tues off). Sat/Sun 10:00-8:00pm; Wed/Thurs 3:00-9:00pm
-Performances: May 6th-May 22nd. Fridays May 6th & 20th 7:00pm; Sat/Sun 2:00pm and 4:00pm. ASM is called at least two hours before show time.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
-General setup and breakdown of rehearsal space
-Taking attendance and contacting late cast members
-Managing/organizing the backstage space
-Supervising the cast during rehearsals and backstage during performances
-Attend Production Meetings
-Tracking blocking, choreography, and props
-On Book to give lines and take notes during rehearsals

ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND: TADA! is a unique, Drama Desk award-winning nonprofit youth theater that produces original musicals for children, teens, and family audiences. TADA! offers a free, year-round, pre-professional training and a positive youth development program for the Resident Youth Ensemble (ages 8-18); musical theater classes/camps for the public; as well as musical theater residencies in NYC schools and community centers. Through TADA!’s high-quality work, young people's self-confidence and creativity are enhanced. They also develop advanced skills in leadership, communication, responsibility, collaboration, and problem-solving – skills that help with growing up and are essential to their success both in school and in life.
