With your donation, you’re giving children a chance to grow in a place where they are a part of something special, and where their uniqueness is celebrated and encouraged. Giving ensures that these stories always have happy endings. It means that kids who need a place like this will always have it. It means giving hope to parents and kids alike when they need it the most.
Founded in 1998 with just 12 students, Stage Right! currently has an enrollment that averages 300+ students year round. The school is based on the tenet that professional artists instructing, mentoring, and working alongside student actors profoundly affects their development. Our students are taught by professionals and then are given the opportunity to work with them on stage. This synergy creates highly successful partnership that nurtures our young actors both on and off the stage. Our post-graduate students have been accepted into some of the top musical theatre schools in the nation. We have numerous students that have graduated from college, received their Equity card from the Actors' Equity Association, performed in New York and the tri-state area and returned to teach or give a masterclass at Stage Right! We have alumni that are currently performing in theaters, on cruise ships, and are running their own theatre companies. Our core classes include acting, tap, jazz, voice, ballet, and musical theatre. We have special programs for students on the spectrum and with disabilities, programs for homeschool/cyberschool students, and for the youngest - we have our Music Together® program. Our students range from birth years to 18, and even adults! Stage Right! also continues its involvement in the Propel Schools in the Pittsburgh Public School System. We provide the musical theatre component in selected elementary and high schools, staffed by professional actors who can teach full time. The project involves developing a curriculum to fit Propel’s needs and Stage Right’s! resources. We then adapt what we consider our product to an inter-city school system.
