Breakdown

Cornerstone Theater Company is an ensemble based community enagaged company. These are auditions specific to the production Urban Rez. For more information about Cornerstone's training programs please visit

Urban Rez, written by Larissa FastHorse, explores the hunger that persists when culture, language, land and identity are denied. The performance will reflect a contemporary story of urban Indians, blending music, dance, and text in an immersive theatrical experience We have a limited number of contracts available to Equity actors interested in working with us in our collaborative, community engaged approach to making theater.
The playwright has created fictional members of a Native American tribe based on an extinct tribe in Southern California.

There is flexibility in the casting as far as age, gender, tribal affiliation, nationality, etc. Due to Cornestone's process of casting from within the community one is not auditioning for a specific role. The majority of the cast will be Native non profesional community members. If cast you will be working alongside community members with various degrees of theatrical experience. Specific roles will be determined after the community actors are cast.
