Setting: Present Day, Presidential Primary Season
Will, (Male, African-American, early to mid 20’s.) A young journalist, well on his way to a successful career. Fresh, charming and not yet jaded by the world of politics and journalism.
Stephanie, (Female, ethnicity not specified, 40’s.) A fast talking, powerful veteran journalist. Deals fast and works non-stop but takes a liking to Will’s youth and potential.
Maddie, (Female, Caucasian, 21) A college senior and daughter of a presidential candidate. Charming and a bit naïve.

Setting: The midlands of Ireland. All four roles are Irish.
Aoife (Female, Caucasian, 60-77), Rosemary's mother, in bad health. Opinionated, straightshooting but grief-stricken from the death of her husband.
Anthony Reilly, (Male, Caucasian, 40-49) A subdued, intense dreamer. Sensitive and guarded.
Rosemary, (Female, Caucasian, 40-49) A willful, patient and optimistic romantic soul.
Tony Reilly, (Male, Caucasian, 60-77) Anthony's father. A wily old Irish farmer, cantankerous, set in his ways, and sly. Proud, stubborn, and gruff.

Jervis, (Male, mid-30’s, ethnicity open), A tall highly educated, shy and witty aristocrat with a lonely side to his character. High baritone/tenor.
Jerusha, (Female, early 20’s, ethnicity open) A poor girl, brought up in an orphanage with a great love for learning. She is clever and lives her life with a sense of wonder. Alto with a pop sensibility.

Lenny Magrath, (Female, 30, Caucasian) The oldest sister, a thoughtful, self-conscious woman who remains concerned about her critically ill grandfather and her own impending spinsterhood. She is protective of her sisters.
Chick Boyle, (Female, 29, Caucasian) The sister’s first cousin, often drops by with gossip, advice and criticism. Critical and demanding, she is extremely concerned about the community’s opinion of her.
Doc Porter, (Male, 30, ethnicity open) Meg’s old boyfriend, kind and loyal, he offers friendship to Meg upon her return even though many things were left unsaid when she left.
Meg Magrath, (Female, 27, Caucasian) The middle sister, moved to Hollywood to pursue her singing career, abandoning her lover Doc. Although the most outgoing of the three sisters, suffered a nervous breakdown while in Hollywood.
Babe Botrelle, (Female, 24, Caucasian) The youngest sister, serves as the confidante to both of her sisters. Innocent yet troubled, she faces charges of attempted murder for shooting her husband.
Barnette Lloyd, (Male, 26, Caucasian) Babe’s lawyer, ambitious and talented, he holds a major grudge against Babe’s husband Zachary but also has an attraction to Babe. Will use any and all information in order to take down Zachary.

Eamon Jameson, Male, 30’s, African-American, Essence. Hopeful, altruistic. Noriko’s
husband in flashback, and other characters in present.
Sayuri Matsuda, Female, early 40’s, Japanese, Quirky, chaotic, adventurous. Hiromi’s cousin.
Natsuko Matsuda, Female, late 60’s, Japanese, Emboldened, independent, hungry. Noriko’s sister.
