Equity actors for the following roles in THE WIZARD OF OZ:

Dorothy
The Good Witch, Sorceress of the North
Mayor of the Munchkins
The Scarecrow
The Tin Woodman
The Cowardly Lion
Uncle Henry
Aunt Em
A Munchkin Farmer
The Wicked Witch of the West
The Wizard of Oz

Please note: Compass Rose Theater casts all roles with age appropriate actors. Dorothy will be played by a young actor, age 14-18. Seeking young actors for Munchkin roles and other character parts.

PREPARATION

Please prepare 16 bars of two songs, one upbeat and one ballad. Bring sheet music in your key; an accompanist will be provided. No a cappella auditions. There will also be cold readings from the script/songbook.

Student actors are asked to bring a recent picture – professional headshot not required for student actors.

Opens November 16 through December 23, 2018 (Thursday - Sunday evenings, Saturday and Sunday matinees, select weekday matinees)

Student actors please note: Rehearsals will be held weekdays between the hours of 3PM and 9PM, weekends both Saturday and Sunday from 10AM-6PM. Rehearsals are held 6 days per week.

OTHER

Description: The MUNY version of the script, which debuted in 1942. The fanciful and heartwarming tale of Dorothy who wishes for a better life, a better place, and is transported to OZ, where there are good and bad witches and friends to help her as she realizes that there is no place like home after all.

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.
