Seeking
Actors for The Threepenny Opera.

Preparation
Please come prepared with a one-minute monologue in a working class English dialect and 16 bars of a role-appropriate song (including sheet music for the accompanist). Songs from The Threepenny Opera are encouraged but not required.

Opening night - 2/21/14
Closing - 5/9/14

Will run in rotating repertory with 2 other shows in ANW's Spring 2015 season.
An Assistant Stage Manager position is available for this production.

Breakdown

Macheath ‘Mack the Knife ’- a charming criminal that kills and steals in his quest to enter middle-class society.

Polly Peachum- naïve young woman in love with Macheath.

Narrator

Jackie “Tiger” Brown –corrupt police chief; friend of Macheath

Kimball- reverend that marries Macheath and Polly

Smith- a constable

Filch- a beggar recruited by Peachum

Matt ‘Matt the Mint’ – Sarcastic member of Macheath’s Gang who continually contradicts Macheath.

Jake ‘Crook-Fingered Jake’– Member of Macheath’s Gang; is so busy reading he does not notice Macheath get arrested

Robert ‘Chain Saw Bob’– Member of Macheath’s Gang

Walt ‘Weeping-Willow Walter’– Member of Macheath’s Gang

Ned– Member of Macheath’s Gang

Jimmy– Member of Macheath’s Gang

Jenny- a prostitute; formerly Macheath’s lover. Mrs. Peachum bribes her to turn Macheath into the police.

Lucy- Tiger Brown’s daughter and Macheath’s “real wife”; currently a prostitute

Suky Tawdy- a prostitute

Nelly- a prostitute

Dolly- a prostitute


All Principal roles will be understudied.
